GISI Consulting Group has appointed Christian Dunaway as Chief Commercial Officer to advance its commercial strategy, support operating company performance, and help the Group adapt to evolving client needs, market dynamics, and emerging technological change.
Dunaway brings nearly 30 years of executive and operational leadership experience in the engineering, project management and consulting industry, with a focus on project pricing, operational excellence, and project risk management. This experience includes two years as VP Operations at GISI Consulting Group company Hill International.
Throughout his career, he has led large organizations across the United States and internationally, overseeing growth initiatives, operational improvements, business transformations, mergers and acquisitions, and major client programs across infrastructure, water and wastewater, environmental, and building markets.
Evolving with the Market
As Chief Commercial Officer, Dunaway will work closely with operating company leaders and the Consulting Group executive team to establish best practices in project management, risk assessment, and commercial decision-making across the Group.
“Our commercial models must reflect the needs of our clients,” says Group CEO Derek Amidon, “both now and as the market evolves, including alongside the incredible technological advancements we’re seeing across the industry. Christian has a unique combination of experience.”
This combination includes deep expertise in commercial models and a practical approach to adapting to market changes in alignment with client needs.
Stronger Outcomes for Clients
The appointment also reflects GISI Consulting Group’s continued focus on building a stronger, more connected Group of businesses while preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and market expertise that have made its operating companies successful.
In his role, Dunaway will focus on aligning commercial practices across the Group, identifying opportunities to improve performance, and sharing proven approaches that help businesses deliver stronger outcomes for clients while creating long-term value for employees and stakeholders.
“What attracted me to GISI is the strength of its operating companies and the depth of expertise that exists across the enterprise,” Dunaway shares. “These businesses have earned the trust of their clients by consistently delivering high-quality work and solving complex challenges. My focus will be on helping our teams build on that success by sharing best practices, strengthening commercial discipline, and creating greater opportunities for collaboration across the organization. By doing so, we can continue to enhance performance, support our clients’ objectives, and drive sustainable growth.”
