Investing in the Future of Energy Infrastructure: GISI Consulting Group Hires Three New Leaders

Across the globe, energy and utility markets are being driven by growing demand, renewables, and new technologies. In the U.S., much of the energy grid was installed more than 40 years ago, requiring widespread replacement and expansion. In other markets, new infrastructure is needed from scratch.

To better serve owners implementing capital programs in this high-risk, evolving space, GISI Consulting Group has hired three highly experienced energy and utilities experts. Richard Box, John Black, and David Quezada have joined the organization in multifaceted leadership roles.

Richard Box brings 35 years of international experience in energy, with expertise encompassing operations, business development, client management, and practice leadership. As Senior Vice President of Energy & Environment, he will work closely with sector leaders at Hill International, GEI Consultants, Palladium, and other GISI Consulting Group operating companies to formulate and implement energy and environmental strategy.

John Black joins the Group with more than two decades of experience managing large energy infrastructure programs. He also has operational leadership experience, in which he’s increased efficiency, reliability, and safety and improved customer satisfaction. As Vice President of Energy and Utilities, he will lead program, project, and construction management operations across these markets.

David Quezada will focus on program management and business development for utilities clients. He has nearly 30 years of experience helping owners design their electrical grids, run their largest programs, and oversee their project management teams. David also has eight years of executive leadership experience. As Vice President, he looks forward to helping the Consulting Group build upon an energy organization that already wins large programs, exceeds expectations, and delivers on every commitment.

According to GISI Consulting Group CEO Derek Amidon, the end goal is quite simply to continue powering our world.

“In addition to keeping up with today’s accelerating demand for energy, energy companies and utilities have to navigate complex, multijurisdictional legislation, increasingly intense environmental risks, less predictable construction costs and durations, and resource constraints at all levels of their organizations,” he explains. “To continue powering our world, these owners require the multidisciplinary expertise and comprehensive resourcing capabilities that GISI Consulting Group can offer through our eight operating companies. Our new energy leaders, Richard, John, and David, will leverage our global platform and cross-company teams to help more owners mitigate risks, realize efficiencies in their capital programs, preserve and enhance existing assets, and deliver the next generation of secure, reliable energy infrastructure.”
