Alex Kwan is a distinguished engineering leader whose career has been defined by innovation, transformation and the delivery of landmark infrastructure projects across Asia. Formerly CEO, Asia of GISI, he championed the adoption of digital technologies, including digital twins, robotic process automation (RPA) and artificial intelligence, accelerating digital transformation across the built environment sector.
During his tenure with the Airport Authority Hong Kong, Alex played a pivotal role in advancing the smart airport vision through innovations such as autonomous vehicles, biometric technologies and intelligent airport systems. He also oversaw the delivery of two world-first achievements: the world’s longest airport Skybridge and the first deployment of autonomous electric tractors at an airport.
Prior to joining GISI, Alex served as Chief Executive of AECOM Greater China, where he led the region’s largest engineering consultancies comprising approximately 8,000 staff and delivered numerous award-winning projects. At GISI, he successfully established and grew consulting organizations from scratch, collectively building a business of approximately 1,400 professionals across Asia, demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurial vision and business leadership.
